The Marq Smart Home & AV System Takeover
HAP transformed an existing home automation and audiovisual system into a more intuitive Control4 experience with centralised AV distribution, eight televisions and whole-home background music.
Taking over an existing smart home and making it work around the owner.
At The Marq, HAP was engaged to take over an existing smart home automation and audiovisual installation originally implemented by another system provider.
Instead of simply replacing equipment, our team first reviewed the existing infrastructure, system configuration and AV setup to understand what could be retained, reorganised and improved.
The new solution was then planned around the homeowner's actual lifestyle and entertainment requirements, creating a more intuitive, reliable and human-centred experience throughout the apartment.
Existing technology brought together into one simpler home experience.
The project combines entertainment distribution, Control4 interfaces, whole-home audio and centralised equipment infrastructure into one coordinated system.
Smart Home System Takeover
HAP assessed the inherited automation and AV infrastructure before reorganising and integrating the systems around the owner's requirements.
Centralised AV Distribution
Eight televisions were integrated with access to the owner's StarHub TV and Apple TV entertainment sources throughout the residence.
Control4 AV Control
Control4 touchscreens and handheld remotes provide convenient control of televisions, entertainment sources and audiovisual functions.
Whole-Home Background Music
Multi-room background music was configured according to the homeowner's listening preferences and the way different areas of the apartment are used.
Two entertainment sources available across the home's televisions.
Entertainment was an important part of the owner's requirements. HAP configured the home's centralised AV system so the eight televisions could access StarHub TV and Apple TV through a consistent control experience.
From an inherited installation to a cleaner system foundation.
Taking over an existing smart home is often more challenging than starting from an empty rack. Existing cabling, equipment, programming and distribution first need to be understood before meaningful improvements can be made.
A smart home should adapt to the homeowner, not the other way around.
HAP's approach at The Marq was based on how the owner actually wanted to use the home. Entertainment control, background music and everyday AV operation were planned to feel natural rather than technical.
Behind the scenes, multiple televisions, entertainment sources, audio zones and control devices work together. From the homeowner's perspective, the experience remains straightforward.

Already have a smart home that isn't working the way you want?
Not every smart home needs to start from scratch. HAP can assess an existing home automation, AV, networking or entertainment system and determine how it can be reorganised, improved or integrated into a more reliable solution.
