The Eversolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 is a high-fidelity music streamer, DAC and analogue preamplifier designed to serve as the centre of a modern Hi-Fi system. Combining flagship AKM digital-to-analogue conversion, a fully balanced preamplifier architecture, high-resolution playback and extensive streaming capabilities, it brings music playback and system control together in a single component.
With an 8.6-inch touchscreen, high-precision R-2R analogue volume control, Wi-Fi 6, expandable SSD storage and comprehensive digital and analogue connectivity, the DMP-A8 Gen 2 can be used as a complete streaming source or integrated into a more advanced Hi-Fi system.

The DMP-A8 Gen 2 is built around a precision-engineered aerospace-grade aluminium chassis. Its rigid metal construction provides natural shielding against external interference while giving the unit a clean, understated appearance suitable for premium Hi-Fi systems.
The wider chassis also provides additional internal space for the audio circuitry, power supply and system architecture while maintaining a refined and minimalist design.
Large 8.6” Touchscreen
A high-resolution 8.6-inch LCD touchscreen provides a clear and intuitive interface for browsing music, controlling playback, selecting inputs and adjusting system settings.
The redesigned user interface also supports visual playback displays including VU meters, spectrum visualisations and dynamic effects that respond to the music in real time.
Flagship AKM DAC Architecture
At the heart of the DMP-A8 Gen 2 is a flagship AKM digital conversion architecture combining the AK4191EQ digital processor with the AK4499EXEQ DAC.
Separating digital processing from digital-to-analogue conversion allows each stage to perform its dedicated role while helping reduce unwanted interference within the signal path. Combined with AKM Velvet Sound technology, the architecture is designed for high dynamic range, low distortion and precise reproduction of musical detail.
Fully Balanced Analogue Preamplifier
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 incorporates a fully balanced analogue preamplifier architecture with both XLR balanced and RCA single-ended connections.
In addition to its analogue outputs, XLR and RCA analogue inputs allow external sources to be integrated into the system. This enables the DMP-A8 Gen 2 to function not only as a streamer and DAC, but also as the control centre of a complete two-channel audio system.
High-Precision R-2R Analogue Volume Control
Volume adjustment is handled by a high-precision R-2R resistor ladder operating in the analogue domain.
This approach avoids relying solely on digital attenuation when adjusting listening levels, helping preserve musical dynamics and signal detail across the volume range. It is particularly useful when connecting the DMP-A8 Gen 2 directly to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers.
Low-Noise Dual Power Supply
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 uses a high-quality, low-noise dual power architecture with separate power sections for the digital and analogue circuitry.
By separating these sections, electrical interference between digital processing and the sensitive analogue audio circuitry can be reduced, providing a cleaner foundation for high-quality audio reproduction.
Dual Ultra-Low Phase-Noise Audio Clocks
Dedicated ultra-low phase-noise clocks provide precise timing for the digital audio circuitry.
Accurate clock management helps minimise timing errors and jitter during digital audio processing, supporting stable and accurate high-resolution playback.
Eversolo AuralEngine
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 uses Eversolo's proprietary AuralEngine audio processor together with its EOS Audio Engine.
EOS bypasses Android's standard sample-rate conversion limitations to provide a direct bit-perfect audio path, helping preserve the original sampling rate and resolution of compatible music sources.
High-Resolution Audio Playback
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 supports high-resolution playback up to Native DSD512 and PCM 768kHz/32-bit through compatible interfaces.
A wide range of commonly used high-fidelity formats is supported, including DSD, MQA, FLAC, APE and WAV, making the player suitable for both high-resolution local music libraries and streaming playback.
Comprehensive Digital Connectivity
A wide selection of digital inputs and outputs allows the DMP-A8 Gen 2 to integrate with TVs, external DACs and other digital audio components.
USB-B, optical and coaxial inputs accommodate external digital sources, while USB Audio, IIS, AES/EBU, optical and coaxial outputs allow the DMP-A8 Gen 2 to operate as a high-resolution digital transport when paired with an external DAC.
HDMI ARC/eARC
Built-in HDMI ARC/eARC allows compatible televisions and projectors to send audio directly to the DMP-A8 Gen 2 at up to stereo PCM 192kHz/24-bit.
This makes it possible to use the same high-quality two-channel audio system for both music and television sound without requiring a separate AV receiver.
Dedicated Subwoofer Output
A dedicated subwoofer output makes it easier to integrate a powered subwoofer into a two-channel Hi-Fi system.
The crossover frequency can be adjusted from 40Hz to 500Hz, providing greater flexibility when matching the subwoofer with the main loudspeakers and listening environment.
Expandable Music Storage up to 8TB
An M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD slot located on the underside of the unit allows internal storage to be expanded by up to 8TB without opening the main chassis.
This provides substantial capacity for locally stored high-resolution music collections while retaining the speed and quiet operation of solid-state storage. SSD is sold separately.
Create and Manage Your Music Library
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 can bring music from local storage, NAS devices and network locations together within the Eversolo music library.
Support for protocols including SMB, NFS and WebDAV makes it possible to access music stored across compatible network devices. Music metadata can then be organised into a structured library for easier browsing and playback.
Integrated Music Streaming Services
Major streaming platforms are integrated into the Eversolo ecosystem, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon Music, HIGHRESAUDIO, Deezer, SoundCloud, Presto Music and other supported services.
The platform is designed to bring streaming and locally stored music together within a unified playback environment, reducing the need to switch constantly between different devices and interfaces.
Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect & Qobuz Connect
Support for Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect allows music to be selected directly from compatible service apps and played through the DMP-A8 Gen 2.
The player also supports DLNA/UPnP and other network audio protocols, providing flexible integration with different music ecosystems and playback devices.
20-Band Parametric EQ & Advanced DSP
A professional 20-band parametric equaliser provides detailed control over frequency, gain and Q values.
Additional DSP functions include FIR filter import, loudness control and dynamic range compression, providing greater flexibility for adapting playback to room acoustics, loudspeaker characteristics and personal listening preferences.
Wi-Fi 6 & Gigabit Ethernet
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 provides 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless connectivity, while the built-in Gigabit Ethernet connection provides a wired option for stable network streaming.
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 also includes an SFP network interface for compatible fibre or Ethernet network modules, providing additional installation flexibility for advanced network audio systems. SFP modules are sold separately.
Bluetooth 5.4
A Qualcomm QCC3095 Bluetooth audio receiver provides Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity for convenient wireless playback from compatible smartphones, tablets and computers.
This provides a quick alternative to network streaming when guests or other users simply want to connect a device and start playing music.
EVC Volume Engine
Eversolo's proprietary EVC Volume Engine is designed to maintain signal integrity throughout the available volume range.
Together with the R-2R analogue volume control architecture, it provides precise level adjustment while maintaining consistent audio performance at both low and higher listening volumes.
Eversolo Control
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 can be controlled directly from its touchscreen, with the supplied remote control, or through Eversolo Control.
Control can be accessed across compatible phones, tablets, web browsers and TV interfaces, bringing music browsing, playback, volume, input selection and system settings together within a unified interface.
